Golden Child by DaMoyre

Poem

Golden child, golden child,
Your sole presence makes me smile
Golden child, golden child,
The mystery of your hazel eyes

I could never explain
Your presence by my side
You've become my past; you're my present
The non-existent future flies.

Golden dream, my fantasy,
The wind blows your sun-colored mane
Golden vision, sweet illusion
The rain washes my tears away.

I see the days go by
You keep stealing my heart.
The clouds drift by,
Stars shine on high.

Golden child, golden child,
Nature's son, untamed heart.
Golden child, golden child,
How do you run so wild?

I feel the joy that love brings
The blue skies, your outspread wings.
And your hair, like sweet wheat,
Glimmering, shimmering...

Golden child, golden child,
Story of innocence lost;
Golden child, golden child
Full of tenderness and love.

I sit and think,
Stare at the ocean,
Silver moonlight rays;
I close my eyes and whisper your name.

Golden child, golden child,
How do you run so wild?
Golden child, golden child,
Illusion, fantasy, dream...

Golden child, golden child,
The idea of you makes me smile;
Between reality and dream,
How did you come to be what you are?

Ocean wave, drifting cloud, warm night,
Tree's shade, glorious solace,
Free bird, river wild, blazing sunset,
A golden cage that keeps captive my heart.

Golden child, golden child,
Story of innocence lost...
Golden child, golden child
Quintessential gift of love.
