This
is Zoena Legacy, a family-oriented Aboriginal Australian newly arrived
in an otherwise empty neighborhood.
First off, full disclosure: I don't remove all the hacks and mods I
have installed before playing with this family, as it's too much hassle
for me. I play as cheatless as possible with them installed: I don't
use any of the ones that I'd have to actively access. What is in use
are mods such as the Automatically-Emptying-Potty, the Always-Stocked-Fridge,
and many that take care of annoyances such as the A+ badabadabi dance,
kids burping into the teleprompter or the complaining when they can't
go somewhere; also ones that make them sleep in their assigned beds,
lets them paint continuously or shows their novel-writing progress.
Furthermore, I dislike large lots with a passion (they're always much
slower than the small ones), so I bought a 3x2 lot, and then built a
wall which I hung with 3 of the most expensive paintings, and then added
4 wallpapers. This left me with exactly the same amount of money that
is left if you buy a 5x5 lot. Here's a screenshot of the wall with the
pictures:
 
So, on to the story:
The first person Zoena encountered was Derek the paperboy. She greeted
him and they started a conversation, which went well until Zoena made
the mistake of mentioning high-heeled shoes. Derek apparently has a
trauma about them, and her mention of them sent him first into violent
denial and then into a fudge state. Zoena decided to better not continue
with that relationship.
 
Instead,
she built the the beginnings of her new home:
Considering how little she could afford, a job was a must. Luckily,
she immediately managed to find a job as a street dancer (it's the custom
Dance career). The work was hard, but fun, and she could bring in a
lot of details from her ancestral land.
Next morning, she met Kennedy IDon'tRememberHisLastName, who was very
taken with her (or at least her see-through nighty). Zoena liked him
and the flirting soon turned heavy:
 
2 days later, she asked him to move in with her as a roommate. Turned
out he's a Fortune sim, which isn't a bad combination for a Family sim.
He didn't bring much money, but it was enough to finish building all
walls and add some furniture. He was rather high in the business career,
and had the next 2 days free. I decided that I wanted him to switch
careers, so he spent those days building different skills, while I had
him checking the newspaper daily. 3 or 4 days after moving in, he managed
to switch over to the (custom) architect career.
They could only afford one double bed instead of 2 singles, and with
all that flirting and petting going on, Kennedy had gotten the wrong
idea. Zoena was not amused to suddenly have him grab for her.
However, as most Sex Ed will tell you, petting alone *can* get you pregnant,
as Zoena found out soon later. To Kennedy's credit, he immediately offered
to do the right thing and immediately made an honest woman out of her.
It might not be a love match, but they eventually got comfortable with
each other.
 
Soon afterwards, Zoena gave birth to a cute little girl that they named
Ysobel. It wasn't an easy pregnancy, and immediately after giving birth,
Zoena dropped the kid on a blanket on the floor and passed out in bed.
 
By that time, Zoena and Kennedy had grown close enough that soon afterwards,
Zoena found herself pregnant again.
Kennedy was mostly interested in raising his skills so he could get
promotions, but occasionally he found time to snuggle with his daughter,
who turned into a very beautiful little toddler and child, or his 2nd
child: a son named Youssef. Neither of the kids inherited their father's
ugly nose, but Youssef got his nearly non-existent upper lip. Ah, well,
as a male, he can always grow a beard. *g*
 
But it was Zoena who did all the other child-raring duties, and who
later helped both of her children with schoolwork.
Here's Youssef right after his age-transition to child:
Overall, they're a pretty happy family. Kennedy was making a nice salary
by then, and Zoena's income was lower, but still very welcome. All that
dancing and training also left her with a body to be proud of.
 
She seemed to have passed on her love of dancing to Ysobel as well.
Soon enough, they could afford a much larger home:
And before long, Ysobel turned into a beautiful teen, who rolled Romance.
Fitting, because based on her looks and personality, that's what I'd
have chosen for her as well. Her father was quite shocked that his little
baby girl was growing into a woman.
 
And he had reason to worry, because Ysobel knew exactly what she wanted,
and how to use her looks to get it. (I was incredibly impressed with
how cute she turned out. I never thought Kennedy would father such a
beautiful child). She first got a part-time job as a photographer, but
was fired due to a chance card. So she switched over to modelling, and
found her calling there.
At this point, I decided that I was going to grow up the child townies
into teens with each generation, and generate new ones for the next
generation. I'll not marry them into the family, but I'll keep them
as romantic partners for the teenagers. Once the generation turns into
adults, I'll remove them from the game to simulate that they got estranged
after growing up). And I was pleasantly surprised, some of the Townie
children turned out pretty nice-looking as teenagers after a make-over,
even tho I decided to not use any custom content. I also rolled their
aspirations as if they were a legacy family member.
Here's how they turned out:
Marsha: Knowledge. Brittany: Family. Orlando: Fortune. Chloe: Popularity.
And Chandler got Pick Your Own, so I decided on Romance to have a complete
set.
Despite being the shy knowledge teen, it was Marsha who Ysobel developed
an interest in. Maybe it was the challenge in getting Marsha to unwind
and live a little? Mind you, her romance with Marsha didn't keep her
from flirting with Orlando...

Kennedy and Zoena turned into elders around the same time as Youssef
grew into a teen. He rolled family - not my first choice, I'd rather
have had another Fortune sim, but it works well enough with his personality,
which is very neat, very active, and very shy. He got a part-time job,
in the teen architect career. He'll have to take over his father's business
one day, after all, and what better way to learn than to work his way
up from the bottom.
 
Youssef took nearly forever to get closer to a girl, but eventually
managed to share his first kiss with Brittany, who he'd known since
his first day in school.
What have we here... is that a burglar? Uh-uh... Thankfully the police
showed up in time and caught her, but not before Youssef didn't have
a small breakdown:
 
But wait, what's this? Oi, Youssef had gotten into his head that now
that he had helped Jessica the burglar, he was responsible for her and
kept calling her and later inviting her over, trying to get her to give
up her criminal ways. Oh Youssef, you kind-hearted idiot...
Ysobel meanwhile transitioned into an adult, which promoted her quite
high up into the modelling career. I first considered hooking her up
with fellow Romance sim Brandon, because he didn't look too bad - until
I realized that he only looks good from the front. From the side, you
can see his horrible nose...
 
Which didn't keep Ysobel from using him to lose her virginity with:
after all, he knew what he was doing. Despite the fact that she never
had a permanent interest in him, they later stayed good friends, and
Ysobel occasionally called him over when she was between other partners
and wanted some fun between the sheets.
Since she was quickly rising up the levels of the modelling career,
Ysobel got a small make-over, and wow. I'm incredibly impressed with
how beautiful she turned out. I think she's the best-looking sim I've
had so far, including all the ones I created in CAS. Of course, she
also took good care of herself and her body.
 
Kennedy amazingly enough got the Want to quit his job. This was right
after he maxed his creativity skill and finally reached the top of the
architect career, so I had him retire and from then on kept him churning
out masterworks or bestsellers, which kept him in platinum nearly constantly.
I must say, once you have a Fortune sim with maxed creativity, they're
the easiest aspiration to keep happy.
Youssef finally transitioned to adult, and also decided to get more
in touch with his mother's heritage. So now he started sporting a chin
tattoo and also ritual scars. His skills were high enough that he got
a high push into the architect career, so combined with the money Kennedy
got from his pension and Zoena got from the 5 vacation days she had
left at Dance Instructor level (level 9 of the dance career), they made
quite a nest-egg for future generations.
 
But time doesn't stop, and eventually the reaper showed up for Kennedy
(I had aged him right after moving him in with Zoena, as it was unrealistic
for a new adult to be so high up in the career as he was. I had made
him 6 days older than Zoena). So he became the first sim to be put into
the newly built grave-yard:

Ysobel called over Brandon for wild sex in the hottub to make her forget:
 
Youssef spent hours mourning at his father's grave (note that I used
move-object on to put lights into the bushes, with makes for a very
nice indirect lightning effect):
And Zoena... well, Zoena decided that she wanted to use the last years
of her life to find a partner she was really in love with, to experience
mad passion, and not just a marriage for the sake of her children which
was comfortable but not exciting. Which is all well and good, but Waylon
the repairman as the object of her dreams...??
 
Ysobel meanwhile also ended up with a new lover, Townie Joe Carr...
...and to her dismay discovered that birth control can fail:
Joe could hardly believe it. "You're WHAT?? It's *MINE*????"
 
But he didn't protest too loudly when Ysobel's hormones went into overdrive
and she kept jumping him for smooching and kissing... but he refused
to do more. There was a baby in there! It was just too freaky.
 
Ysobel was not amused.
Eventually, she ended up calling over one of the girls she had known
from school. Meadow had been eager to experiment further, and now she
and Ysobel had quite a bit of fun (after they chased Zoena into her
own room):
 
And here is Ysobel's first child, a girl she named Xie.
Ysobel wasn't a very good mother, but Youssef suddenly realized how
much he loved children, and how much he wanted his own.
And because of his saviour complex, he decided to propose to Jessica
the NPC burglar. Or course Jessica accepted: it was the best thing ever
to happen to her. She'd get a rich husband and since he was quite an
important person in town, she'd be unlikely to get picked up for the
smaller crimes she still habitually does. (She's also a Romance sim,
which will... be interesting).
 
Before the wedding, there was a little mini-drama: I forget who did
it, but someone managed to set the kitchen on fire. And Ysobel immediately
used this chance to flirt with Stuart, the fire-fighter.
 
Youssef decided to that he wanted a big wedding, and so they erected
an outside wedding arch. The ceremony went without a hitch.
 
Well, with the exception of Vince the Headmaster, who spend the whole
wedding ceremony inside playing chess. (In case you're wondering why
he's here: both Ysobel and Youssef were in Private School, and Ysobel
had done most of the talking/schmoozing. When she found herself pregnant,
she decided to keep inviting him over so she could get her kid into
Private School easier).
The wedding party was a big success. Youssef and Jessica kept feeding
each other cake and doing strange dances, while Ysobel soaked in the
hot-tub and chatted up future potential bed partners.
 
During the wedding, some of Youssef's colleagues come in and renovated
both his and Ysobel's rooms:
Another wedding guest was Joe Carr, who nearly immediately wandered
off to meet his daughter for the first time, and spontaneously decided
to feed her. It might have been better if he'd waited for her to wake
up first... It's also the last time he's met her so far, unless I actually
remember to invite him over again.
Youssef went into his wedding night as a virgin, and a rather reluctant
one at that. Jessica had to practically jump him before she got to woohoo
him:
 
Afterwards, Jessica got a make-over, and wow, she turned into a very
nice looking sim. I think I may consider getting someone in my normal
neighborhood to marry that version of her...
Later that night, after everyone had gone home, Youssef and Jessica
decided to sneak out into the hot tub. There, Youssef shyly whispered
one of his "kinky" ideas to her (well, *he* thinks it's kinky...). Of
course Jessica was only too happy to fulfil that wish for him, even
tho she had to again get aggressive to get him going:
 
His wish? Woohoo in the hottub, which is in view of the street. Someone
might see! Gah, he's is such an innocent vanilla person... *g*
Ysobel, meanwhile, didn't get anywhere when she decided to try and seduce
Vince. Turns out he's totally repressed and afraid of nudity, let alone
touching someone else's body.
This pretty much spelled the end of their relationship, as they broke
into bickering: "I had to put up with your stupid talk about the miniature
rockets models you collect!" "Why, I never! And to think that I was
trying to have conversations with a person who failed mathematics!"
 
To cheer herself up, Ysobel went down to the local tiny community center
(this is a later picture, as Brandon only showed up later, but I forgot
to take a screenshot earlier), and to treat herself - to woohoo with
a male... *cough* "escort"! Granted, at least it's a nice-looking one...
Some time later, Brandon showed up at the lot, and after some vigorous
dancing, Ysobel decided that she needed new, sexy underwear - and then
invited Brandon in for some public woohoo. The store-clerk was impressed
- this is probably the closest he's ever gotten to having woohoo himself...
poor little sod.
 
Ysobel clearly enjoyed that a lot, so they promptly did it again. And
only now did it dawn on the store clerk just who'd have to clean up
that booth after they were done...
 
Back at home, Xie turned into a toddler. Now that Youssef was married,
it was Zoena who did nearly all of the child raising.
 
I have exactly one shot of Ysobel with Xie, which is later in Xie's
toddlerhood. She was mostly too busy flirting with others.
And Jessica finally was pregnant as well. Youssef was ecstatic. Jessica...
was less thrilled. Would she ever manage to get her slender figure back
that she needed for sneaking around in the night?
 
Also, a new drama was approaching: Zoena started to openly parade around
her relationship with Waylon.
Ysobel especially was horrified, dismayed, and then very very angry:
 
Jessica just found the idea of two elders having sex rather disgusting:
Which didn't keep Zoena from inviting Waylon into her bed.
 
Soon afterwards, Jessica went into labor, and gave birth to another
girl, Xané. Who she immediately dropped in favor of bedmaking. Honestly,
every woman in this generation is a horrible mother.
 
After the birth of her daughter, Jessica decided that she wanted to
get back into the criminal "scene", but doing something less physical
than breaking and entering. She eventually settled on a new career as
a drug dealer (yeah, another custom career). Here she's meeting with
one of her contacts who's responsible for supplying her the drugs she
later re-sells on the street. Of course, the rest of the family has
no idea what she's doing: she merely often leaves for long walks...
Time for another overview shot of the current Legacy home: quite large,
and will probably accommodate future generations without having to be
extensively modified/enlarged.
Jessica actually remembered to age transition Xané herself (tho maybe
bathing her first might have been a good idea). Xané turned into an
incredibly lazy toddler, so her facial expression in the 2nd shot is
spot-on.
 
Ysobel meanwhile had been working on her relationship with Stuart the
fire-fighter, and finally managed to get him into bed:
 
And right after he leaft, she calls over Joseph the bartender from Youssef's
wedding, who she had decided would make a nice bed partner as well.
Waylon manages to make everyone hate him even more: first he makes a
pass at Ysobel, admiring her breasts, much to her horror, and then he
tries the same with Jessica, in broad view of Youssef, who watches in
utter disbelief. Jessica isn't any more delighted than Ysobel was.
 
Zoena is unphased by the hostility and decides to propose and marry
Waylon. I think she's just impressed with his big tools.
 
But considering that Kennedy's ghost is still hanging around, that what
maybe not such a wonderful idea... Kennedy is now one very angry ghost,
and starts haunting everyone. For some reason, Xie is a particularly
often-tormented target of his - sometimes she hardly gets any sleep
at night! He repeatedly tries to kill Waylon, but never manages (damn!
I would have *loved* that particular twist).
 
(I realize that I've not posted a picture of Xie growing into a child,
but I seem not to have taken any pictures of that. Sorry...)
Xané seems to have inherited her grandmother's love for dancing: she's
the first toddler I managed to catch dancing. And it's so cute! Much
cuter than these pictures show, but it was impossible to zoom any closer
(the camera started to rise from the floor if I tried).
 
Ysobel's flirt with Joseph has consequences: Xie catches her smooching
him, which makes Xie extremely unhappy, and breaks up most of the few
ties of love that she still felt for her mother. Ysobel doesn't realize
until much later, when it is already too late to fix most of the damage.
She realizes that she's not good mother material, and while she loves
her daughter, she had no idea how to build a good relationship with
her.
 
Next, disaster strikes Youssef: as he comes home one day, he finds his
wife talking to some very suspicious guy. After they disappear together,
he eventually finds them in the bathroom, flirting!
 
His first action is to smack his wife around - and then he recoils in
horror at what he's done and breaks into tears.
 
After he has calmed down, he confronts her, and Jessica tries to play
the whole thing down, and lets slip that "he's just the guy who supplies
the drugs I sell". Ooops.
 
That's something that Youssef will never forgive - not to mention that
she'd stashed the to-be-sold drugs in their home! What if their children
had gotten into them?! Youssef finally realizes that his dream of rehabilitating
Jessica was just that - a dream.
 
All her begging is for naught: he kicks her out, without even letting
her dress first. (Xie is very sad - after losing her relationship with
her mother, Jessica was the next best thing she had to a mother. Poor
kid)
 
Xané is traumatized as well, but Youssef does his best to calm her.
She's all he's got left, now, and he'll love her enough for 2 parents,
and bring her up to take over the family business - and right there
his thoughts grind to a stop, and he realizes that she *is* Jessica's
daughter. What if Xané is genetically pre-disposed to a life of crime?
Can he really trust her to keep the family business thriving?
 
All of these dramas have brought Zoena's aspiration close to dropping
into red - especially since she again finds a new man in her daughter's
bed. Constantly getting haunted by her incensed dead husband's ghost
doesn't help... Since she's getting close to death, something has to
be done. Thankfully, she can get quite a few aspiration points by interacting
with her grandchildren.
 
Youssef is the one who realizes that he has a way to fix both his troubles
and make his mother happy: he invites over one of his oldest friends,
Ivy Copur, and takes their relationship past the friendship level. Ivy
had been secretly in love with him for years, so she's quick to respond:
 
By this time, Youssef has unbent enough that he's actually willing to
make out before he's married or engaged. *g*
He gets engaged to Ivy and invites her to live with them, and after
she moves in, I immediately give her a make-over (I just *had* to test
that long-haired mesh), and switch her over to the (custom) Education
career. She's cute, but her mouth is a bit strange, and since it's hard
to find good lipcolors for really dark sims, she's not quite as good-looking
as she could be.
And his engagement is what pushes Zoena up into Platinum level, just
in time, as the grim reaper shows up only 2 hours afterwards:
The first thing Ysobel does after her mother drops dead? She throws
Waylon out of the house.
Also immediately on the heels of Zoena's death, Xané transitions into
a child, and of course needs a new room.
