After
effectively losing their first-born son to homosexuality, the Normals
were gratified to see that Joseph turned out to be perfectly normal
in regards to his sexuality. What's more, Beth Rose Everyman was a very
appropriate young lady, and John and Jane were happy to see their son
pursue a girl from a family who shared their own values.
As soon as both had finished school, and Joseph had started to work
as a cop, they got married in a small ceremony at the Normal's home.

But while the couple was happy with each other, and both parents liked
each other as well, surprisingly, Jane and John never grew overly close
to Beth Rose. She was their son's wife, and they liked her values and
the fact that she was industrious and polite and all that, but they
never outgrew a stage that could be described as "acquaintances living
in the same house".
Luckily enough, however, Beth Rose and Janet got on wonderfully, and
especially during her pregnancy, Janet was a wonderful friend to Beth
Rose.

The couple's first child turned out to be a lovely little boy who was,
of course, named John III. Everyone loved the little guy (who'd inherited
his grandfather's and mother's ... unfortunate ears), but Janet was
always especially close to him. She adored children, and considering
that her little teen romance with Billy Everyman has cooled quickly,
was already well on the way to considering herself a spinster.

Joseph and Beth Rose soon had another child, a girl this time, who they
named Josepha. Where John III was outgoing and fun-loving and had just
as little neat-points as his mother, Josepha was a quiet, shy and neat
child, and serious as well.
Right around this time, however, the family lost two members: first,
Janet was stunned that Billy Everyman showed up after all these years
and requested her hand in marriage, which she gladly gave - finally,
she was going to have a family as well!
And then, John's old age caught up with them, and the grim reaper came
to take him away.

It was a horrifying event for everyone, but for Jane, it was nearly
the end of the world. Her mental health suffered tremendously, and showed
a previously frailty.
