John
II Normals, after moving out of his parent's home (rather in disgrace),
found a small home on the outskirts of Normalville - big enough so that
he could fit in all necessary belongings, small enough that he could
pay it - being a Nurse didn't pay much.

His life was rather uneventful. He remained single: he wasn't really
outgoing, and preferred to spend his nights reading. And his co-workers
were mostly female, and generally didn't share his rather strange fascinations
with aliens. Some other cities might accept them, but general opinion
in Normalville was that they were just green freaks, and should stay
far away.

Eventually, after buying some bookcases and an easy chair for reading,
John II decided to invest the latest bonus he got from work in a telescope.
He spent many a night peacefully watching, until one night, when suddenly,
he found himself enveloped by a bright light, and lifted by an overwhelming
force into the source of that light...

... and was suddenly gone.

Several hours later, John II regained consciousness just as he felt
himself given a shove, and after a few frightening moments of falling
into darkness landed on something hard...

... which turned out to be the road outside his house.
His first few minutes after the return were spent trying to see if he
could get up...

... and once that was achieved, he began to notice that most of his
pain was localized - in a rather awkward place!
As higher brain functions returned, John II realized that the strange
and horrifying consequences of the mysterious scientific experiments
and anal probings on abductees would probably happen to him as well!
He spent all his free moments afterwards intensifying his research on
abductions, focussing this time on personal accounts of what was to
come (and getting caught up in it enough that he changed his career
track to Science). And thus he was not overly surprised to wake one
afternoon to a sharp pain in his abdomen - as if his internal organs
were re-arranging themselves. It was true: he would soon give birth
to an alien child.

The pregnancy progressed quickly, and without complications.

The same could not be said of the actual birth - it was rather horrifying.
But as soon as John II held his little girl in his arms, he knew it
had been worth it. He named her Starr.

Starr grew quickly. Her looks were very strange, and she was most certainly
an outsider in Normalville, often ridiculed by her peers. But John II
lacked the money to move them to a bigger city, where she might have
contact with others of her kind.

And while Starr was very intelligent, John II worried about her. Would
she find happiness in a town like Normalville? Starr herself just wanted
to be a scientist, like her daddy. She loved experiments and strange
machines.

Eventually, John II grew into an elder, and even reached the top of
his career. Together with Starr, a teenager by now, he had done intensive
research with and on her, and had become one of the leading experts
in alien genetics.
Starr eventually grew into a very shy adult. Only a few days later,
after a long and overall happy life, John II died of old age.

Starr was left on her own.

Although she soon found out that John II had managed to scrape together
enough money for life insurance to leave her a hefty sum. She spent
it on modernizing her home, and settled into continuing her father's
genetic research.
