The
Natives consist of adult Sowate, his teenaged half-sister Tamak, and
their (distant) cousin Anahata, who'd been orphaned recently and had
moved in with them. Sowate had been taking care of Tamak since their
mother had disappeared - no one knew if she was still alive somewhere
or not. He had been a rather absent-minded guardian, mostly concerned
with various lovers, but they'd grown a lot closer after he realized
that Tamak had taken it upon herself to make sure his weed was the best
around, thus guaranteeing him nice profits.

Anahata's arrival had spiced up their little trailer home quite a bit
- not only was she very pretty, and very talented in using her looks
to get whatever she wanted, Sowate was also totally unsure how to handle
the fact that the girls didn't really get along very well.

Especially since Anahata had immediately made sure to have a firm place
in the household - right in Sowate's bed. She'd steamrollered him into
it, and what's more, made him believe that it had been his idea, and
that he had been her first.

It was quite enjoyable, and he was a very talented lover, much better
than the young boys in her old neighborhood. Really, the only thing
he lacked was more stamina - but well, he was no longer a young boy,
after all.

Both girls weren't big fans of school, but it was school that provided
the next interesting addition to the household: a white girl named Fortuna
Strict, who was brought home by Tamak one day.
Tamak quickly talked Sowate into letting her stay - after all, *he*
had a lover, why couldn't Tamak have her lover live with her as well?
And besides, the girl's parents were so strict, they'd never be allowed
to associate with each other if they could only meet during lunch break.

Fortuna was deliriously happy to be allowed to live with them for awhile:
summer holidays had just started, and for the first time, she was free
to be herself, to wear her hair the way she liked it, to wear clothes
she liked, and to spend time with the friends she chose, just talking
or doing silly things.

Fortuna spent the nights in Tamak's room (in Anahata's bed, actually
- she and Tamak did have a crush on each other and had experimented
sexually, but both knew it was a teenage thing), while Anahata was only
too glad to be "forced" into Sowate's bed.
Eventually, Tamak and Anahata started to take Fortuna with them to the
local teen-meeting place - a dance-hall/game hall combination. It was
the local hot-spot for teens, and Fortuna was fascinated. However, this
eventually proved to be a bad move, as Fortuna's parents were of course
looking for her, and eventually, her father found her there. Her only
consolation was that at least this way, he didn't know who she had been
staying with - her father was well-known for his sometimes violent rages.

The Natives didn't see Fortuna again until 5 years later, when one day
a very primly dressed woman - looking totally out of place in their
neighborhood - showed up at their doorstep. Tamak's and Anahata's first
reaction, once they realized just who their visitor was, was to giggle
madly - neither of them could imagine dressing like that at all. After
a quick greeting, they made sure to help Fortuna get rid of these horrible
clothes. To her surprise, Fortuna could still fit into her old dress,
and she again cut her hair, and this time also started to experiment
with make-up.

She asked Sowate if she could stay with them again - her parents were
trying to ship her to a strict institute for young women who were not
as religious, meek and obedient as their parents wished, and she knew
she wouldn't be able to stand it there. Sowate, quite taken with the
beautiful woman Fortuna had become, was happy to accept her into the
Native home again. Now that she was older, the others introduced Fortuna
to the joy of getting high on weed, and she took to helping them tend
the plants with diligence.

Her relationship with Sowate was quite friendly, and over the next several
months (during which Fortuna made sure to never visit any clubs or other
public places) they grew very close. Anahata has long moved on to different
lovers, and Tamak and Fortuna's relationship had settled into a close
friendship, so when Sowate and Fortuna finally got around to getting
physically close, everyone was happy.

The fact that Fortuna became pregnant came somewhat as a surprise -
the other girls had assumed that Fortuna knew about contraceptives,
alas, that supposition has been wrong. But after the first shock had
worn off, everyone was quite happy with that development, even Sowate,
who'd never been too keen on the idea of babies before.
Very likely, his stance was influenced by being the one who got to reap
the benefit of Fortuna's pregnancy hormones, which turned her into quite
the sex-fiend, making her demand sex whenever the mood struck her -
and that was often.

The next months, for Sowate, were extremely pleasurable, if also somewhat
exhaustive.

Fortuna and Sowate were spending a few rare moments together without
actually having sex when disaster struck: Fortuna's father had hunted
her down again.
And Howard Strict was utterly horrified when he found her daughter pregnant
- by some non-white, no-good, small-time criminal and drug dealer! He
let out a primal scream, and tackled Sowate into a fight.
At first it looked as if Sowate could defend himself, but then Fortuna
could only stare in horror has her father suddenly pulled a knife from
somewhere, and stabbed her lover to death right in front of her.

And then he forced her to help him drag Sowate's body away into the
desert, and bury him there. The horror of it all unhinged her...
Howard then dragged Fortuna back to the Native home and used their bathroom
to scrub both himself and her free of blood, and then proceeded to call
a taxi and drag her into it. Tamak and Anahata came back home just as
they were leaving, but Fortuna was too out of it to apply to her for
help.

And that was the last time the Natives ever saw Fortuna. They also never
found out where Sowate had disappeared to, but from what Fortuna had
told them about her family, they had a pretty accurate suspicion. They
just lacked all possibility of ever proving anything.
