FilthyRich 01

The FilthyRich moved into Normalville because Newman FilthyRich, who'd gotten his fortune from clever inventions, wanted a house in a more rural area, away from the bustle of the city, to concentrate on even cleverer inventions. Well, that was the official story, in reality, he wanted to get his wife, Kymberly, away from the bad influences of the fast city life and her jet-set friends. Kymberly hated him for it - she's married Newman back when he was just getting known because she'd sense that he'd eventually be successful and bring in lots of money, not because she felt anything for him. His friends looked down on her as the gold-digger she was - taking her from her group of the jaded rich elite was taking away her only entertainment.



Ah, well, she had a fast car and knew enough people who'd invite her over, to get away from this dump of a town.



They had three sons: Bernard, Brett and Alfred. The older two were very much their mother's sons: Bernard had inherited a lot of his father's intellect, but his love of success and money he got directly from his mother. At least he was too intelligent and ambitious to achieve that success on the coat-tails of someone else, he was going to do it on his own. Brett however, who also took after Kymberly intellectually, just wanted to spend his life in luxury, surrounded by many beautiful women.

A lot of people assumed that Alfred, the youngest, was probably not even Newman's son, but Newman knew better: Alfred after all took completely after him, pursuing knowledge for knowledge's sake.



The family's somewhat dysfunctional life would continue until shortly before Alfred reached his majority: then Kymberly, probably suffering from withdrawal of some weird new designer drug, would raid Newman's chemistry lab and set free some experimental fumes that would kill both her and Newman, who was trying to rescue her. The house would become a biological hazard and later demolished, and the three FilthyRich sons would settle into a new home and start on achieving their life's ambitions: fortune, romance and knowledge, respectively. But all that was still some years in the future.
