Normalville - 04

I'm doing my best to put everything into something resembling chronological order, with some shuffling to make the storylines read better. Click on the family name to get to the family-only summaries.

Warning: there's some ... questionable content this week, in the Breeder family. They're a very disturbed family...

The main goal this week was to get all the kids to teenager level, so that I could start checking out which sims look like they're interested in each other. I got most of them, until I was hit with the jump-out bug yesterday. I'm using the fix now, but I was so pissed at the game yesterday that I haven't played since then.

Families I've not played this week are: Native, Alien, Cheater.

Fortune Family:

I did play until Su Wan turned into a teenager, but there wasn't anything really interesting going on. So all I can show you are better screenshots of Su Ming and Su Wan, and a better overview shot of their house.

oh, ok, one more: The paper-boy loves watching Su Ming when she's changing clothes. Apparently he's a voyeur... *g*

moving on...

NormalSon family:

ok, after I finally got John II a fake alien baby, the 'always be abducted' mod came out. So... I decided that everything that happened to him last week was just a strange dream he had, and used SimPE to erase that child from his memories and relationships, and moved her out of his life (I put her into the Curious family - there are some pictures of them at the bottom of the post, if you want to make sure that I haven't killed her off *g*).

So, we're back to John II still spending all his nights outside, searching the heavens for a sign that aliens really do exist:

And, finally, one night, while John II is busy staring at the northern sky, he is surprised by a stealth UFO coming in from the south and sucking him up:

Where they go and what *exactly* they do with him, we'll never know...

Several hours later, John II regains conciousness only to find himself plummeting towards the ground:

At first, all he knows is confusion:

then pain (in an awkward place...) makes itself known:

finally, higher brain functions turn on and he looks over his shoulder...

... and realization strikes:

The next several days, John II spends buried in books, trying to find any information about what has happened to him.

Thus prepared, what happens next doesn't really come as a surprise - one genuine human/alien halfbreed girl (again named Starr *g*). John II is ecstatic:

Starr's eyes aren't the best - alien eyes are probably not really adapted to Earth's air

Both John II and Starr don't have many friends, they are just too strange for pretty much everyone, and John's workmates think he's nuts whenever he starts going on about aliens:

But that doesn't keep them from wishing (and dreaming):

At least they have each other:

John II is happy to find out that Starr's thirst for knowledge and interest in science is just as big as his own:

Eventually John II grew into an elder, but refused to quit his job. Actually, he did a lot better once he was an elder: He got from science teacher to the top of the science career during his elder years, that's 6 job-promotions he bagged during that time! Mind you, once he hit "mad scientist", he did get a bit ...weird.

Here's teenaged Starr, wondering about her other father:

Starr grew up into a nice (if rather shy) adult:

When Death finally came to John II, he confused them by offering John II a martini! Apparently, the afterlife John II is headed for will be quite nice:

(he even got Hula dancers, but they didn't fit into the tiny bathroom, so they did their dancing bit in the livingroom. Also, his urn floats:

)

Starr used her inheritance to upgrade her house, and then went back to maximizing her skills (she already maxed out Cleaning, Cooking, Logic and Mechanics as a teenager, so she's also progressing up the science career ladder extremely quickly).

I only did minimal playtime with the Strict family, just enough to grow up Melanie into a teenager as well. Is it any wonder Charlotte will never think that she's nice-looking, if her younger sister looks like this:

oh, and Fortuna is still one angry ghosts:

Over at the Everyman home, Maria Rose moved back in after both her husband William and her son Billy died in a freak pool accident, joining Billy's wife Sally in the nice graveyard at the back of the house.

Suddenly losing 2 beloved family members hasn't been too good on her health, she's gone slightly nuts and has also started drinking:

Her only joy are her grandkids, who always bring home A+ report cards:

Well, everyone but Willifred Rose, who's grades are atrocious! (well, noone ever taught her how to study. Small wonder she never does her homework...)

And here are pictures of Sally Rose and of Will after reaching age-transitioning to teenager (Sally Rose no longer shows any hints of abnormal powers or hints of still worshipping the evil bunnies. Actually, as a teenager she ended up extremely nice, even spending one weekend doing 5 of Willifred Rose's homeworks)

And here's William, my first death-by-swimmingpool ghost. He seems rather enthusiastic about the fact that he's dead... ok, well, he was never the brightest bulb. *g*

Last time we saw the Nordic family, Gunnhildr had just electrocuted herself, throwing her whole family into grief. Well, most of her family. Here are good screenshots of all the kids:

Holgar Sven, who's a nice but not very bright family sim, following his father into the Athletics career, because it doesn't require too much brain power. All he wants in life is to find a nice little wife and have some nice little kids:

Here's Gunnar, who's a popularity sim, and very nice and outgoing. He's also on the Athletic career.

Next is Siegwulf, who's still a cold-hearted bastard who never once mourned or cried over his mother's death. He's a fortune sim, and is on the Athletics career track because he wants to make lots and lots of money.

Hildver, who started wearing his sister's clothes when he was a child, grew up into a nice-looking homosexual romance sim. Two days after age-transitioning to teenager, he was already busy flirting up Will (and telling him all about his make-up fetish). They're extremely cute together, and if things keep going as they are, they'll probably make a nice permanent couple (Will is a family sim, but I'm sure he's nice enough that he'll allow Hildver to stray occasionally. In other words, I can put in the no-jealously fix when I play them. *g*)

And here's Svertgart, who ended up remarkable good-looking, at least compared to most of her brothers. She's a knowledge sim.

Here's one image of Holgar Sven. He really really wants to get married again, but I have no suitable wives in his generation, so he'll probably realize his fear of 'growing old without being married'. Poor man. At least he's doing well at this job.

Gunnhildr's ghost still haunts the house - she's extremely unhappy about being dead and thus separated from her Heltvar. Also, she keep re-living her death scene over and over - thankfully she mostly does it outside.

In the Normals household, the two girls Josepha and Jane Rose also made it to teenager:

Janet, however, is still not very stable. It didn't help that she got fired from her job as a hostess, and had to go back working in the drive-through:

Beth Rose, strangely enough, suddenly developed an interest in getting a job in either the police or the military career track, and actually started working out. So I let her, and she immediately rose to Patrol Officer, and has since then bagged in one promoting, and has thus after 3 days at work risen to the same level as her husband. Thankfully Joseph doesn't really mind, he always knew that she was smarter than him, and is just happy to see her happy.

Jane, who's sleeping patters were all over the place and who was mostly awake at night, started telling everyone that John's ghost had been visiting her, and that he was coming to get her soon. They all thought she was going a bit weird in her old age, especially when she insisted painting the scene she kept describing.

However, considering that she *did* die barely an hour after completing the painting, maybe there was some truth in that after all. She died while everyone was out of the house working, all alone in the upper bathroom. Joseph buried her next to John:

For Janet, that was the last straw. The thought of her mother, dying all alone, possibly lying around on the cold bathroom tile waiting for death with noone there to help... she couldn't stand it.

So, she became a nun:

Ok, that came very out-of-nowhere, but it's something that I planned for awhile. I wanted a place where I could send sims that I no longer needed/wanted where they could die, and I could keep all their ghosts. I also have more girls than boys in my game - and I tend to prefer girls over boys, so most of the sims I'm likely to create when I'm playing around are female ones. Thus I got the idea of creating a nunnery where I could move some of the females, and who would then act as nuns who's mission it is to care for the elderly or the sick until their death. I can move sims in there with SimPE, and also use SimPE to make sure they'll die within 24 hours. So I searched the Sims Exchange, and found a nun habit and "hairdo", and went off to build it.

The Sisters of the Immaculate Heart (well, just Immaculate Hearts, because the full name was too long for the game), with one founding sister: Sr. M. Innucentia.

The nunnery has space for 6 nuns, and 2 large rooms that can be used for sims that are no longer needed close to death. There's a small chapel as well, and I've added 2 custom paintings for the "altar" so far (I'll eventually add more to decorate the whole house and chapel in a Christianity-based religious manner).

It's built on the lot where I sent Adam Cheater (if you can still remember him from week 1 *g*) to die, so they already have one grave (with ghost):

And here's the new Sr. M. Janet, looking much happier with her new life:

Ok, now we get to the dysfunctional mass that makes up the Breeder family. I didn't play Abigail (the wife Jebediah kicked out for cheating on him) or her out-of-wedlock daughter Jezebel, since Jezebel is already a teenager.

First, let's check with the BreederOld branch that has the four oldest sisters, who're living in their own house with their grandfather:

Jonah eventually succumbed to old age, a day before Ruth grew up to adult. Adelene was already waiting for him outside:

Ruth, who'd worked part-time in the politics career track as a teenager, moved out after she grew into an adult, wanting to be independent and rejecting the inheritance fund that had been set up for the 4 eldest by their grandparents. She moved into a small house, where she's working on her career, and hoping that she'll eventually meed a man that will make a nice and solid husband.

Judith has recently become very very introverted, and spends all her time in her room, painting. What might have caused this startling change in behaviour? She'd been rather more outgoing previously...

Rachael is the nicer and shyer one of the twins, and has a family aspiration, however, she usually ends up doing whatever her younger twin wants her to do.

Rebekkah is a Romance sim, and one one hand is very interested in meeting men, but on the other hand has been brought up strictly enough that she's still not convinced herself to let all of that upbringing behind her. She's also pretty mean.

One day, Jezebel came to visit, trying to see if maybe her older siblings were nicer to her than her younger ones, who'd all hated her. Unfortunately, she was greeted at the door by Rebekkah, so that attempt to become closer to her half-siblings failed miserably:

After Ruth had moved out, they remodelled the house a bit, so that Judith has enough space in her room for her paintings, and Rebekkah and Rachael share their old grandparent's room. They also updated the ground floor:

However, Rebekkah and Rachael might have ulterior motives for wanting to have their own room, across the hall from Judith... because Rebekkah has always had a rather inappropriate idea of just how close twins should be

(yes, I edited them with SimPe so they could become involved. They also make out on the bed a lot - it's always Rebekkah who initiates, and Rachael just goes along with it).

Now, on to the main Breeder household. Last time we saw them, Jebediah had just married Sky Prayer, his secretary of many years simdays, and she was pregnant with their first child.

Eventually, Sky Prayer gave Jebediah 2 children, both - to his big disappointment - daughters: first Adah, then Rebah.

It was interesting that the younger Breeder kids mostly brought their older siblings home from school. And that the older siblings immediately started talking care of the babies/toddlers. Here's Rachael, holding Adah:

Jebediah remained a bastard, up to shortly before his death. When he realized that his time would soon run out, he did start to regret not having been nicer to his daughters...

Shorty afterwards, death caught up with him, and he ended up buried in the backyard. He hasn't made a ghostly appearance. Yet, anyway.

Let's have a look at the older kids in the house:

Tobias, the eldest son and thus his father's favorite, is following his father in rising on the politician career track.

He's also always been very fond of his older sister Judith. Maybe... a little too fond?

I should mention here that during his teenage years, he started to complain to his father that not having his own room was very distracting to his studies, so Jebediah spent money on a small cabin in the backyard, where Tobias could be undisturbed:

Some time after Tobias turned into an adult (and into a State Assembly Person), he cornered Judith in his cabin, and ... well. At first Judith got angry, then she got scared.

Er. I'll let you make up your own mind on what happened next. Maybe she did get away with slapping Tobias and running...

Twins Esther and Ezekiel: they're the nice twins. They're good and nice and friendly, and really don't get along very well with their father or their 2 brothers. They're somewhat friendly with their stepmother and their 2 little half-sisters, but mostly they keep to themselves. They plan on moving out as soon as they're adults - they don't know any details, but they just feel that the whole house doesn't feel like a home. They're both family sims, and hope to find a nice spouse.

Nathaniel. Who still has problems with wetting himself. And anger-issues. And is fixated on bugs.

Here he is, with his best friend Benjamin:

He often borrowed Tobias' little cabin, so he could spend time with Benjamin undisturbed, talking about manly thinks like sports, and doing many things like having fist-fights.

Until one day, when he tried giving Benjamin a manly hug, and ended up being rejected badly, and Benjamin looking him up and down and then asking him "hey, are you gay, or what?".

Nathaniel was horrified! Never ever nonono, there was *no* way he could possibly be gay at all, he was all manly and not a limp-wristed whimp. Absolutely rejecting the idea, he buried himself in his bed and totally completely convinced himself that it was probably all Benjamins's fault, who was probably the one who was gay and was probably sending out gay vibes to *make* Nathaniel want to hug him. (Denial. Not just a river in Egypt anymore...)

However, Nathaniel's running away and slamming the door of the cabin so extremely hard, and forgetting that they'd been busy cooking dinner when the attempted hug had happened, caused a bit of a problem for Benjamin...

(I was somewhat amused to it was Benjamin's *ass* which caught fire first *g*:

With a locked door, the firefighters had to watch helplessly as Benjamin burned to a slow death.

The only one in the house who noticed anything was Tobias, who came out to see what all the commotion was about. Bah, how inconvenient, now he'll have to go and re-furnish his cabin.

Next morning, Nathaniel's reaction on finding the ashes of his boyfriend: "It's all your fault for making me want you!" He's sure that such a thing will never ever happen again, especially not with Ricky, his other best friend...

BTW: have you ever taken a close look at Death's mobile logo? *g*

Let's go to a nicer place, the CheaterTrash family, where Geraldine and Lola have adopted Lola's little sister Mali (who had been taken away by social services from Lola's mother). Geraldine is rising fast on the science track, and Lola, refusing let Geraldine be the only bread-earner in the family despite the fact that Lola herself has nearly no qualifications, took a job as a dishwasher to also add to the family income. She worked hard, slowly started to raise in the culinary track.

Geraldine certainly liked Mali well enough, but she still wasn't quite happy that she and Lola couldn't have a biological kid together. But then again, she *is* on the science track, so eventually Geraldine managed to fiddle around enough with her genes to fulfil her dream: Lola was pregnant with Geraldine's child (thanks to SimPE, where I briefly switched Geraldine to male. *g*)

Lola was very very happy, and thanked Geraldine appropriately (and repeatedly *g*):

Imagine my surprise when they ended up with twins! Gah, I really didn't want any, I had to rebuild the first floor to make space for a larger nursery/eventually bedroom. They were two girls, Leni and Henrietta (make an educated guess which parent named which child *g*):

I had originally hoped for one boy to up the male/female ratio of generation 4 in the neighborhood, but now that I've ended up with 2 girls, I decided that they'll be considered generation 5 - they are the last-born children of generation 4, when some of the first kids are already adults, so they'll grow up and eventually pair up with the next generation.

And around that time, the jump-out bug in this family got so bad that I stopped playing. Thankfully they work again now, so I'll be able to continue with them shortly.

And now on a sidenote, because they are not really characters that I plan to bring into the neighborhood anytime soon, here's the Curious family, with the first discarded child of John II added:

I decided to give all of them a makeover, and now they're all decent-looking enough that I'll eventually bring them back into the game if I need more males to marry.

Pascal:

Vicund:

Laszlo:

Pascal gave birth to a totally normal-looking girl that I named Sunna:

And here's Starr (version 1):

After getting John II abducted, I decided that while I still had the always-be-abducted fix installed, I might as well get all 3 Curious brothers abducted as well.

Starr was really getting annoyed with all the nose from the UFO's dropping off the brothers one after another, and then of having to listen to them rave about their wonderful experiences.

And here's a close-up of the alien ship - apparently it's piloted by a disembodied energy cloud:

Next week: starting to pair up all the teenagers. I already have some ideas, but some of them conflict. Oh, drama... *g*

That's it for now. Come back next week for more!
